C09 and mate back together again
C09 and mate back on the nest they used last season to hatch and raise 3 chicks.
C09 bringing a stick to the nest
C09 bringing in another stick.  Nest building is one of the male's important roles. You can almost see the numbers on the green "hacking" band on his left leg.
C12? with fish ready to land on cell tower nest
C22, with partially eaten bullhead in left talon, ready to land on the nest high atop the cell tower South of Brighton, MI.
Female above nest on cell tower
Female ready to land on cell tower nest.  The tower is 180 feet high, and has three antenna platforms; this is the upper one. Her leg bands are visible.
Cell towers come equipped with good perches
C22 eating the remainder of a bullhead while perched on one of the tower's antenna or junction box.  These stick up higher than the nest, and make ideal perch posts.
C12? perched on a pipe
C22 trying out a vertical pipe as a perch post. These look to be about 1.5 inches in diameter, and not a whole lot of room for both feet.
