June 3rd - More Photos of Macomb Co. Nests

Inwood road female #1 in nest
This photo shows the head of the female who is brooding at the Inwood road nest. At no time was more of her body exposed; she is sitting very low and one can only see the very top of her head, down to her beak, as she changes position over the eggs. Her beak is partially obscured by the stick below the red arrow that points to the top of her head.

Inwood road male on East antenna
On an antenna support pipe sits the Inwood road male. This seems to be his favorite perch when he is at the nest. He was seen here twice during the June 1st outing. No bands on either leg were visible in photos or views through the spotting scope.

Inwood road female #2 looking at nest
This photo is of the 2nd female at the Inwood road nest. She came by twice. The first time, she stopped to hover and look at the other female in the nest.

Inwood road female #2 with fish
The second time the 2nd female came to the nest she had a fish in her talons. She landed on the edge of the nest this time but did not leave the fish for the brooding female. When she left she took the fish with her and flew off. She wasn't seen again for the remainder of the morning.

Cell tower nest biginnings at 31 Mile and Mound roads
This is the top of the cell tower to the East of the intersection of 31 Mile and Mound roads. There is an aircraft warning beacon on this tower so it must be taller than 200 feet. The nest material that has been deposited is on the Northwest point of the triangle catwalk, mixed in with the metal structure and coaxial cables that come up the tower from below. This photo was taken looking South from 31 Mile road.

No defined nest "bowl" is evident at this time.  Observers are reporting the ospreys building this nest are continuing to bring in more material.
