 As
is turned out, the male indeed had a rather large piece of fish with
him. It looked to be well over a pound. There was enough to supply all
that the chicks could eat and plenty for the female.
She is holding the fish in her right talon and pulling off morsels for her brood.

After leaving the Windfall Hill Bay nest, the Wildwing Lake nest was the next stop.
Same story, no chicks could be seen at first. Then, one-by-one, two chicks popped up to catch a few sunny rays and look around.
This is the 7th successful nest for C09 and mate. Their first offspring was a single chick (Bucko) in 2002.
Mother
osprey spent most of her time standing over the chicks to keep them
cool since they cannot regulate their own temperature at the age of
two weeks.

Photographer Donna Roy sent along some photos for the OWSEM web site. Thanks Donna!
This
is C09 and mate at their Wildwing Lake nest with one of their 3+ old
chicks stretching out a wing in front of mother osprey (left adult). The chicks have almost doubled in size
from the above photos.
